159 finish free skills training NC II in Cebu

After passing the National Certificate II assessment of the Technology and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), 159 locals from Liloan and Balamban, Cebu recently graduated from the free Carpentry, Plumbing, and Masonry Skills Training NC II initiated by AboitizLand.
A total of 34 carpentry graduates in Balamban, 50 plumbing and 25 masonry graduates in Liloan and 50 electrical course graduates in Bacayan and Pit-os, Cebu City received their NC II certificates plus start-up toolkits during their respective graduation ceremonies.
As part of AboitizLand’s enterprise development program, the skills trainings aimed to provide unemployed individuals and out-of-school youth with new skill set to support their living.
“Dako among pasalamat sa AboitizLand para ani nga higayon nga makakat-on mi bisan sa mubo nga panahon,” said Richie Tabor, one of the graduates. For Richie, the training has not only promised a better future for his family but has also opened doors for him to practice his passion for carpentry.
Sharing a glimpse of the company’s culture, quality and standards required in its residential projects, AboitizLand Quality Control Officer Diosdado Estilo Jr. shared that the Cebu homegrown developer believes that buying a home or opening a business is one of the biggest financial decision one makes. He concluded that it is important for AboitizLand that the communities it builds will flourish together with its surrounding community.
The real-estate developer has integrated inclusiveness and business congruity in its programs thru providing skills training for the demands of the industry. Graduates of the skills trainings conducted by AboitizLand are expected to form the workforce needed to develop the company’s developments in Cebu. In 2016, AboitizLand has produced a total of 212 skills training graduates in communities where its projects are located.
